Wiring Harness Question '73 750
« on: March 05, 2006, 01:30:36 PM »
Funny the things you don't notice until you start working on a bike.  My bike has no horn and no woking brake light switch on the front.  Here's the question:  does a normal/stock wiring harness have a pig tail for the horn and brake switch or are the connections in the head light?  Need to get those fixed before she will pass inspection.

The brake switch has a pigtail off of the main harness and the horn connects in the bucket....I think.

I just need to figure out how to use a 73 right hand control on a 76.

I was afraid of that - neither are obvious on my bike - I'll just need to work it out.

Thanks

750 K3 Horn gets 12 V from a black wire (switched from ignition switch)
The horn button grounds the other horn connection through a LG (Light Green) wire.  Beep!

The original bike had a hydraulic pressure switch on the lower fork tree.  You should find G/Y and Bk wires near that location.  When connected, the brake light should come on.  (when ignition switch is also on)
