I hardly know anything about this ride other than they have been doing it for years, "request" bikes older than 75, and it meets at the Bayview Boat club at 9 am oct. 31. anyone wanna ride out there with me?

not sure if the sporty would fly, its put on by a local vintage club. here is a copy of what one of the organizers posted on the bavr forum...

Hi guys. You are all welcome to come on the 49 Mile Ride. Here is a ride flyer:
http://occhiolungo.wordpress.com/2010/10/02/10th-annual-49-mile-ride/

We try to keep it to pre1975 bikes for a few reasons, mostly to keep it interesting but also since the national AMCA club requires 35 year old bikes. If you come on a 1977 bike that looks like a 1975 model, I'm not gonna bother checking your pink slip! But please no new bikes. Once the new bikes start attending, this ride will be just like a HOG event or a typical Sunday at Alices... those things are fine, but this is a special sunday just for old iron.

Sorry about the Halloween thing, but the last sunday in Oct is always when we do it. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes!

We expect around 250 pre 1975 bikes if the weather is good. Old old bikes back into the 1920s and 19teens too. Ride is free, bring a few bucks for the BBQ or to donate to the Shriner's Hospital for burned children.

As of now it's looking like me and one other dude. He's got a 77 cb400f, mines a 76 cb750f. I'm trying to rally up a few other folks as well. I read a comment somewhere that the main offenders to the 1975 rule were the Harley guys. They won't turn you away, I figure the whole point of riding a Harley is to give props to antique technology, right? Anyone want to do a pre-ride cup of coffee somewhere in the vicinity for sohc4erers'?

I'm in... Probably a good idea to meet some other honda folk before hand. There's a star#$%*s off of 16th on Owens (according to google) pretty close to the boat club. As I understand people are going to be showing up for the ride at 9ish, departing at 9:30...
I'm not much of a leader so tell me where and when, and me and my 500 will be there!

I'm not much of a leader either but then the same could be said for my following skills(maybe that's why I usually ride alone :'(). Anyway, sounds good to me. Say 8:30ish?

A buddy of mine lives at 900 Tennessee @ 20th, there's 3 coffee shops on that corner and it's just a few blocks away. Sound good?

Weather's lookin' good and I've got at least 8 other guys planning to show up. Previous experience w/ organized rides means we can expect 2 guys to show up but not be able to find each other in the downpour.  ;) See y'all there!
