not sure if the sporty would fly, its put on by a local vintage club. here is a copy of what one of the organizers posted on the bavr forum...
Hi guys. You are all welcome to come on the 49 Mile Ride. Here is a ride flyer:
http://occhiolungo.wordpress.com/2010/10/02/10th-annual-49-mile-ride/We try to keep it to pre1975 bikes for a few reasons, mostly to keep it interesting but also since the national AMCA club requires 35 year old bikes. If you come on a 1977 bike that looks like a 1975 model, I'm not gonna bother checking your pink slip! But please no new bikes. Once the new bikes start attending, this ride will be just like a HOG event or a typical Sunday at Alices... those things are fine, but this is a special sunday just for old iron.
Sorry about the Halloween thing, but the last sunday in Oct is always when we do it. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes!
We expect around 250 pre 1975 bikes if the weather is good. Old old bikes back into the 1920s and 19teens too. Ride is free, bring a few bucks for the BBQ or to donate to the Shriner's Hospital for burned children.
