I need to be inspired.
« on: March 06, 2006, 07:01:59 PM »
My 71 is sitting in my garage weeping sadly because I haven't touched her in days. I need some help getting pumped up again to work on her. I come home from work exhausted, I need to be able to surpass all of that. Give me some reasons to get off my lazy ass and wrnech away!!!

That does nothing for me. Besides, I would need AT THE VERY LEAST an 1100 with a burly side car. Not to mention a buffalo tranquilizer in case she were to get lippy.

Now, had you said Scarllett Johanson I would be in there 10 minutes ago.

Well,

Actually, I was trying to be kind to J Lo (I wouldn't let her ride with me on my '74 750; she was still crying), she looked happy when I told her about your 71.......... it was just a thought......

Now, to tell the truth ;), I have also heard that Abby (so very Gothic you know), from NCIS, is hot on 71's..........

Well,

The last real contact I had with Hollywood people was when Raquel Welch came into my tropical fish store and told me that she LOVED tropical fish...... she said that "they were so clean, so quiet, so peaceful........"

I passed out and when I woke up she was gone and a bunch of damn male paramedics were holding me in their arms.........

:D  i worked on my 78 CB570 for going on 5 months to get her running right.  just within the last 3 weeks has she been right.  WHAT AN AMAZING BIKE!!!  purring like a kitten... getting great gas mileage...  AND looking like a million dollars.

i just made a new seat cover.  i will take some pictures and post them on here this week.  that should get you going!

I had just finished a 1,500 mile trip and wanted a few things checked......

While I waited at this professional shop.... I looked at the Mercedes, the BMWs, the Cadillacs, and, yes, even a Rolls Royce while these moneyed men walked up and down waiting for their weekend toy to be finished (my 750 K4 is my only transportation).  I am sure many a wife was peeved while hubby paced back and forth anxiously waiting for his loving toy to be finished so that he could ride it on weekends.  For, the God's truth to be told, even the man with that Rolls would rather be driving his motorcycle than that car.....oh yes, yes indeed, but, no......, he will never admit that.

But, in middle of the night dreams, while speeding towards far horizons, he does not see his foot on the gas pedal.  Oh no, not at all....., no,  it is his hand on the throttle........., twisting, twisting......., ever twisting that throttle.

If your eyes have seen different dawns and different sunsets, motorcycles have cast a spell over you which can never be cast aside.  It is a journey that only you and your motorcycle can begin and complete......... no other.  The road beckons.......  the road is waiting.......

You shouldn't work on that old piece of #$%* '71, instead sell it to me for 100.00 bucks and go back to watching t.v and drinking beer that way you will never need motivation.
NOW GET OUT IN THE GARAGE AND GET TO WORK YOU SLACKER!

Well, I live right next to the ferry that takes you to the San Juans, which is awsome during the summer. Also, the Oyster Run is held here in Anacortes. It's a huge bike rally, last year we had somewhere around 50,000 bikes here. It's held in september and I have been hoping to get a bunch of people together to rally into it. It's lots of choppers and such. Not to mention Victoria B.C. is a 2 hour ferry ride from here. Yeah there's tons of #$%* here. Damn, I think I just found my inspiration. I'm pulling the engine tomorrow and getting the head in by this weekend!!

Mr. Blasty,
Come to Victoria, we have room.
72cafe,
We were at the Oyster Run on our ST1100 last year., saw 1 yellow 750 F and a nice cafe style 750 in the classic show and one other ST. It was a blast! We'll be there again. Maybe we can tag up?
Cliff.

It sure has me rejuvinated! thanks guys.

Let's see if this might work....

Last night I watched endless HD's on Discovery channel with their "History of the Chopper" show, and of course, the gang at Orange County right afterwards. I'm sick of the world thinking it's only Harleys that make great bikes! We need more SOHC-4's out there showcasing our great American aftermarket inventiveness! Motorcycle mad scientists of the world unite!

(without us, great American institutions like Ebay would collapse!.....)

You know, the one and only Rikki Rockett is making a film called "Hooligans" about European Rockers and cafe racers in the 60s. Probably no 4's, but still might be cool.

Yep, it was a good show... and it's cool to see where cycling roots originated! And I like those OC Chopper guys, too. It's just discouraging for me to see the standard for cool bikes having price tags that the everyday dude could never touch. Perfect paint jobs, bikes that just seem to bolt together...
Sigh.
I'm liking the stuff that every day people manage to do!

...well said...a road trip may be in order...I did about 900 miles this weekend.  Nothing like the satisfaction of a 30 year old bike moving u'r butt that many miles and getting you home in one piece.
