oldbiker, You and my Dad could probably share some pretty good stories and experiences. He's 80 (will be 81 in July) and, at this point, I don't know exactly when he (and my Granddad) started dealing with motorcycles. I just know that they had An Indian dealership and kept going until 68'
when my Granddad passed away. They had a variety of franchises through the years. Names like: Royal Enfield, Norton, AJS, BSA, Parilla, Jawa, ESO and CZ. He was away from motorcycles for quite a few years, until last year. He showed interest in my "project bikes" and so, I took a 76' CB400F down to him to work on and the next thing I know, He's bought a 78' CB750A and his attention is mostly on that. Now he's picked up on a 79' CB750K and doing some parts changing between the two. I know that the 78' is a sohc and the 79' is a dohc but, my Dad gets an idea and does whatever it take to accomplish it. Anyway, like you, he has some pretty good history behind him. I hope to be able to put his experiences down in writing while I can. Later on,  Bill

Bill,

Is it your dad's intention to ride the 750A, or is he still riding? He and oldbiker are inspirations to the this 62 year old whippersnapper  ;D. I'd rather still be riding on two wheels at 80 than an Hover Round or Rascal. Someone said in an earlier reply that riding made them feel younger. I agree. It helps to keep you sharp at least, a lot of mental processing goes on when you ride, regardless of your age.

You and Frostypuck and Cafe69

As long as you are happy to post your age on here, why didn't you fill in the date of birth field when you registered?  Then you would be on the calendar as well (and may even get birthday cards from fellow sohcers...)  8)

Bob, I think he intends to but, I'm not sure if he can handle it. That's why I took him that 400F to work on. He doesn't have good feelings in his legs and I don't think he can handle the weight of the 750. My brother and I will be there if and when he gets it ready to ride. My Mom's been gone about 3 years now and the motorcycles kinda keep him busy and his mind busy also. I agree, you gotta respect the older guys that are still able to get out there.

oldbiker, My hat's off to you and others like you. I'll be 59 this year and I hope I have alot more years of motorcycling enjoyment left in me. Later on, Bill

47 in May, ONLY 18 years older than my CB 750F.  Survived my last bike drop, only needed some touch up paint and a new cafe fairing.  I'm on the left, Mr.Blasty's in the middle.
