bird, got any pics? Attached is a pic with '70s Morris on the left, and the Kawi clone on the right.

Here's a pic of my HA 7 spoke mags on my K1, I presume they're the same as Bird's?

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hey Terry. Opened the shot and all I got was your fine looking motor and mural tank.
Looks like the wheels fell off.
Do I need to expand the shot somehow? cheers

Thanks Retro. Looks like Terry and I have the same wheels. They must been the gun accessories back when, and coming from Japan were probably a lot cheaper than the English ones.
I haven't seen Lester or Morris wheels on a Four for years.

Did you go out to the Honda anniversary at Gatton last year? There were a few out there, actually there was some really nice bikes including some very nice CBX 1000 Honda's as well...

Sorry mate, I didn't see this pic until I read Mick's post, but your bike looks brilliant, I love those murals, can you post a couple of close-up pics? And where did you get that seat? I want one! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Very nice mate, thanks for that. I've got another 18 inch rear mag at home that a mate of mine was going to throw in the trash! I must have a look and see what brand it is. Cheers, Terry. ;D

To add to the data base, attached is a photo of the Morris logo. It is hard to find unless you know where to look. It is only on one side of the rim. The only other markings are stamped in the hub area, and I'm guessing are a date.

Hey Aussies. Yeah, went to Gatton last year. Go every year to the swap too. Now that's an event.

Terry, the seat was made by a bloke in South Australia. I'll try and find his details and post them on the board.

Included are some shots of the art work. Old now, and very unique. Painted by the artist who did the STONE Kawas.
They were done for the film's producer, the late Michael Robinson, who owned a Four at the time.
I knew Michael as a young bloke and he kindly gave them me to go on my bike. I treasure them greatly, and his memory.

Enjoy the art, inspired by Roger Dean's work for a few YES album covers.
Very trippy, but hey, it was the 70's. Man.
Cheers blokes.

That is excellent mate, and a great story too! Let me know about the seat, I'd like one when I convert my K1 to a more "street racer" look. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Retro, Gatton is October Friday 29 and Sat 30. Double check online (just do a Google) to confirm.

If you haven't been before, really recommend going on the Friday if you can.
All the good gear comes out then and is usually gone by closing around lunchtime Saturday.
Good luck.

Did you do the custom treatment to the 500's sidecovers, seat and rear fender Steve? I hope not, cos it's kinda fugly......... (no offence) Cheers, Terry. ;D

Tell me more about this. I've been thinking about what it might take to run an XS400 front wheel to "match" the Lester mag on the rear.
What did you have to do to mount either wheel, front or rear? I'm VERY interested in this.

Terry and Scott.

The work was done by the PO (he was on here a long time ago as "Old Boy")

His website id here but he doesn't mention the wheels. I'll see if he's still around.

I woud also be interested in the work that was done to get the XS wheels on the 500. I have a 550 that I would like to see with those wheels on it.

Please let us know what you find out.

Yamaha mag has same bolt pattern as the Honda, Will need spacers to forks, not sure if disc is in line. Bearing ID may be bigger, if that is the case you must also build new centre spacer..

Yamaha mag has same bolt pattern as the Honda.

I take it you mean the pattern to bolt on the rotor?

Here are some XS400 wheel measurements I found. Haven't been able to cross check them against the CB stuff yet.

"The rim size is 18x1.85 (650 and bigger were 19" rims), axle size is 15mm, width from outside of bearing to outside of bearing is 90mm, right side spacer is 20mm thick. Speedo drive is 31.5mm thick."

Yes brake bolts, the only bolt pattern on them. I got a Ducati 320 mm brake on a Yamaha mag, have not mounted a caliper yet..

Using the Honda brake pattern , you have at least 3 brands of disc choices.. if you can make a caliper mount..
