I don't know you where about the K1, I assumed you where talking about the K6 in your name.  ::)  My Bad.

I guess my point is the nickle plated chain works fine if you do not abuse it. Any chain will fail prematurely if you abuse it by subjecting it to shock loads approaching or exceeding the working load of the chain/sprockets.

In theory the nickle plated chain should run smoother then any standard chain because the friction between the link plates is reduced by the smoother nickle surface.  Diamond states this clearly in there literature and I can attest to its benefits having used ENP on mating surfaces of machine elements in tool changers and pneumatic actuators with good success.

And it just looks pretty, even after several thousand miles.

My JT sprockets should be in tomorrow, but since Im on vacation this week I went ahead and removed the old sprockets, chain, and rear wheel today. Here's few pics.
Looks like case behind frt sprocket has 35 years of chain lube and road grime build up. I was hoping behind the oil build up there wasn't a damaged case like on alot of 750's, but mine was in good shape and after a couple cans of braklean it cleaned up good. In the last pic of the rear hub and shoes I was going to go ahead and replace the shoes, what do you think?
