hey, i am making my own wiring harness for a 73 cb 750, and i was just wondering if there are any cheap solutions for removing the kill switch and all the forward controlls so i can clean up the front end.

are there any switches out there that are relitively inexpensive that can be mounted else where on the bike?
 
i would love to have just my throtle brake and clutch lines coming from the front end, and as little wiring as possible showing.

               Check with ProTeal55, He's done some cleaning up of the handlebar area. I don't remember
          exactly what he did but, I know he installed an ignition switch and a start button switch on the
          left side towards the rear and in the area where the lift side cover was. I think his bike is in the
          Gallery. Check him out, it's a nice installation. Later on, Bill

Just my opinion (and you didn't ask..I know) I don't think removing your kill switch is a good idea.

There are switches you can buy to mount on your handlebars that will really clean them up though. www.cyclexchange.net has one for instance, that i'm probably gonna use for a kill switch on my bike, not sure what i'm gonna do with the left side though, as far as brights or turn signals, or if i'll even have signals...

           I wouldn't want to eliminate any switches, just relocating them. Although the kill switch should
      be where it could be easily accessed. Myself, I don't have a solution right now. For my taste, I
      would want something small and simple. If and when I come up with something, I'll share it with

          If your thinking of using the button switch for a kill switch, it really should be a flip type
   switch. You have to keep the button down until the engine dies. If you let up on the button
   before then, the engine will keep on going. A flip type switch only has to be activated to kill the
   engine. In an emergency situation, you might not be able to hold the button until the engine
   dies. That site does have some nice switches and stuff. One switch (hi-lo and horn button combo)
   resembles the switch on the Royal Enfields back in the 50's and early 60's. Later on, Bill

I did a cleaning of my handlebars late last season. I ditched the factory control housings, and that made a huge difference in the overall look. I mounted the starter button , and ign swith in the left side cover.
I got a solo clutch perch from the Parts Unlimited catalogue, which cleaned up the bars in a big way..
You could also kill two birds with one stone by doing a dual-purpose ign./starter key switch , as found in cars.

I did remove my kill-switch, but after some thought, will be adding it back. I plan to run a small micro flip switch under the lip of the gas tank, so I can access it if need be (hopefully never ) , and the un-looking eye won't be able to see it. It will be on the right side so I can pull the clutch with the left hand...

first of all do not get rid of you kill switch very bad move.  the reason is I have a dirt bike story but it takes to long to tell or type.

On the other hand, I know this is not a cheap solution by an stretch of the imagination but checkout www.exilecycles.com

they have these throttle cables and the like that hides almost every cable.  It might give you an idea of what to look for?  or what you bike might look like?  or if you are handy you might be able to make your own?

again fair warning these are very pricey!

damn. my roomwqate and i were brin storming where to put the starter, and e thought of the left side ciover too, before i read this post this mornin. i thought i was hot crap doing that, guess im just a rookie.
