What would you want from Ontario based get togethers

A couple of nice rides, an occational informal meeting place and a sense of comraderie.
A little more organized, a few rides, a rally, an informal meeting place and a sense of comraderie.
Well organized, several regional rides, a couple of group rides , a national ride, informal  meeting places and to feel part of a dedicated group.
Im up for an occational ride and will try to make it to a rally.
I am too busy to commit but will join in whenever possible.

The guys in Oz are working on this:

I know there has been some discussion here, but it is time to get serious about it as it relates to our area. Only a few months of winter left (ha).

Not positive but Kingsway used to give a discount if you were a member of CMA...........the only problem is that Kingsway will not insure bikes of our age,(if they are even still around they might have sold their portfolio to Jevco)

If you don't mind, let me know what you think of the Ganaraska Chapter. I am sort of between the 2 meeting places....thinking of doing more group oriented riding next year...

Does anyone have a little spare time to spend messaging existing Ontario based riders, if so please let me know and we can split the data base up and contact them. I am sure there are many Ontario based members who seldom check all the boards and many more who are avid riders but can't be bothered looking or have lost the link to this forum. If we have a few guys split the alphabet up and send a message directing members to this post we may get a bunch more.

Tony - what needed fixing and what did you guys do for it?  Why wait for spring?  This morning looks really nice, except my thermo only reads 1. :-\  (Hope Tom keeps warm going to Port Hope.  He'll need that coffee when he arrives at Whimpey's.  ;D)

I needed a new relay for my flashers.  Anyways, does anyone knows who would know how to rebuild or clean the carbs for good price? I would DIY but with some good assitant.  I want to make sure my bike will keep up with everyone's  :)

Thanks

Just got back from Port Hope, about 35 K's one way, coooool but sunny....

Took Hwy #2 there and Lake Shore home, not busy so pushed it a bit, nice ride home.....

There were about 12-14 guys sitting around the table at Wimpies,I grabbed a take out coffee and hung around outside ,didn't see anyone around,I'm not one to approach a bunch of ""Bikers""eating breakfast,so did not have a chance of talking to any members ,I guess I'll just have to join up ..and meet them at another time

Buk_tony............there is a guy on Do-the-Ton who does ultra sonic and I think re-re.......No idea about his work

Hey Guys,

I'm up for a good ride in the spring/summer..... just gotta get the bike up and running good before then, should be no problem though :)

There's a few routes that I've taken before...I'll see about posting up a couple of them for suggestion for this group ride.

HEY!  Thanks a lot HondaNut!...and fellow Ontarian Brothers!! (I don't think we have any sisters yet?) Thanks for the support in the BOTM vote!! I really still can't believe it!

So it'll be in the BOTY running next month.... BUT...I'll eat my dirty underoo's if it even comes CLOSE to winning that.  I believe there are too many other WAY more beautiful bikes that took the previous BOTM's this past year....much more meticulous detailing, scrutinous perfection and money put in.   But if they had a BAD-ASS Budget trophy.... I'm taking that one to the cleaners!! ahahahah    ;D

Thanks again guys!!! And I really hope I can show you all my bike next summer in person!!  (Hondanutrider...my bike is looking forward to seeing you! haha) And we can cruze the Ontarian roads like a group of savage banshee's released upon the open roads of this beautiful land we call home.... ;)

CHEERS!

70cbk0 - Nice bike! It wouldn't be much of a ride for you, but since I am between Georgetown and Erin I was wondering about the Scarborough bluffs as a possible destination, if I ever felt like fighting Toronto traffic to Bluffer's Park. I've never been there.

demon71 - Bill - I've been twice this summer to your area, as far as Lion's Head (beautiful!) and the other time around Grey Road 26 from Wiarton to Owen Sound - fabulous! I like to pick a new spot on the Bruce Trail so that I get a bit of a work out, as well as the Honda.

I've never been to Famous Sam's but Haugen's in Manchester is an old haunt of mine, stopped there last weekend on the way to the family cottage, it's about 1/2 way.

Are all of you on the Member Map? I am, but it seems pretty lonely around me. There don't seem to be many SOHC4's, but I know you are out there. I see you on the road.

You're right, Cookindaddy, that's a beautiful CB77 for sure.  Right again about the Bluffs, been there & it is indeed beautiful.  If we do that, I would recommend coming from the west on the Lakeshore, from east on Hwy 2 & from the north down 48.  Toronto traffic is crap for sure (made me give up riding for a while, too many stupid car jockeys nearly killed me) & the routes I mentioned are all lots of lights but better than the boring 401 (in my humble opinion) sometimes.  I'm in the east GTA so north to Manchester or Haugen's is great for me.

Well.........little late to the show (thanks hondanutrider for the PM), but I'd be good for a ride or two.

It's getting a wee bit chilly for me to do it this year though  :'(    ...but on a lighter note, I got my headgasket to stop leaking and no longer fear lengthy rides  :D

Good to hear from you Matt!

What did you do to correct your head gasket leak?  My 350 Four still likes to weep a bit, but not all the time.

I agree that it is getting chilly, but hopefully today will warm up enough so that the wife and I can go for a brief ride on the Wing.  We've got a bit more "protection" on it. ;)

P.S. Just got back from a nice ride on the Wing.  Temperature was 8-9 degrees, sun and no wind.  Was great. :)
