top end redo?
« on: April 25, 2011, 09:23:54 AM »
after changing out my engine coils i got my 73 cb750 to start for possibly the first time in a few years!

now comes the fun part, when i turn her on i hear some engine chatter and itll idle for a few seconds then it slowlys dies and shuts off so what should i look into fixing?
i was told i just might need to do a valve job and sync the carbs and ill be finished but i have NO IDEA how to even begin or what to buy for that

Download one of the manuals available in the thread at the top of this forum and start getting your hands dirty.  Go through every tune-up and regular maintenance item.  Everything needs to be checked/adjusted/set to factory specs.  Once you've done that, if it runs well then great!  But if not, and there are still issues then you have a good foundation from which to start diagnosing.
