Proud new owner in Birmingham, AL

Hi all,

As of this afternoon I am now the owner of a '76 cb750k.  I was at the Barber vintage bike festival here in Birmingham (with zero intention of purchasing a bike), and I happened up on the salvage/parts/parts bike auction.  Anyways, on a whim I bid and won for the whopping sum of $50!  It is really clean; little or no rust on the whole thing and even the aluminum bits are pretty shiny.  BUT, the motor is locked up.  I'm not sure what the cause is, but I'm hopeful it isn't anything too serious.  All the plugs were still in and the kicker does feel a little "bouncy", so maybe a few days with some transmission fluid will free it up.

I'm not entirely sure what I want to do with it yet.  I know I could part it out, but what would be the fun in that!?  I'm thinking I'll try to get it running then either restore it or make it into a cafe style......if it were a supersport model i'd probably restore it, but i'm leaning towards the cafe style.

Anyways, glad to have found this forum and I'm sure I'll be using it all the time as I try to work through this old bike!

50 bucks??!! Try to get it unstuck and see if you can get it running! Even if you can't, you scored. (Did you get a title for it?)
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Nah, no title.  But I don't think its too difficult here in AL with a bill of sale.  The tank is in pretty good shape, and it came with a nice stock looking seat as well as a big 'ol king and queen seat.  If I cafe it I'll be getting rid of both seats and the tank, and I bet I'll be able to get more than my $50 back out of just those 2pieces!
