Any firearms fanatics here?
« on: October 07, 2010, 05:23:40 PM »
Just curious to see if there are any fellow shooters among us SOHC riders.  So... whatcha packing?  Feel free to list what you have or post pics!

Please don't turn this into a anti vs pro gun debate!

I bought my first firearm 7 months ago.  I have a blast everytime I hit the range.  It's another addiction of mine.

My personal collection is pretty random.  It's mostly cheap stuff but I still have a ton of fun.

Pistols:
  • CZ75B SP01 9mm
  • Sig Sauer Mosquito .22

Rifles:
  • Marlin 795 .22
  • 1943 Mosin Nagant M9130

Shotgun:
  • Mossberg 500 12ga

The wife insisted we get a handgun. Settled on a Taurus 357 Mag with a laser sight. We go on date night every week, but once a month or so...to the shooting range. We're getting pretty good.   ;D

PS: I've got a 22 squirrel rifle and a 7.62mm Mauser military rifle dtd 1946. Killed quite a few groundhogs with the 22. Put about 100 rounds thru the mauser, quite a kick. Haven't shot them recently though

.458 Winchester Magnum (B/A)
.380 Martini Single Shot (L/A) with hexagon barrel
.308 (7.62) Winchester (B/A)
.303 Enfield (B/A)
12g Beretta U/O Shotgun
12g Maverick B/A Shotgun
.22 Baikal (B/A)

I had a nice Remington pump action shotgun with a long and short barrel that could be interchanged but that had to be handed in during the firearms buy back in the 1990's when the firearms laws were changed here.
Use to do a lot of my own reloading mainly for the .308 and the .458 but hardly at all these days.

Let's see....

A S&W model 59 9mm with (2) 14 round magazine's
A Ruger 10/22 compact carbine (first rifle, gift from my father about 30-35 years ago)
A 1931 Winchester Model 12 Pump Action Shotgun
A 1930's or 40's Browning Auto Shotgun (unsure at the moment what model it is)
A WWII Japanese rifle and Sword taken from a dead soldier on Guam by my step-grandfather
A couple of other vintage 22 bolt action rifles

With the exception of the Ruger that my dad bought me, I inherited the rest of these at his passing.
I've never actually purchased a firearm myself...someday though, I would like to own an old Colt SAA and an old Winchester lever action rifle in matching calibers.  ;)

Have
Remington 6mm Rifle
Mosin Nagant
Hi Point 9mm Carbine
Want
Keltec .223 SU16c
Dragunov Sniper Rifle
12ga Semi Auto
many many more...

I love shooting the Mosin Nagant. It is a cannon. The 9mm is a blast to play with, and the 6mm is lethal to deer.

Currently my only firearm is a lowly savage bolt action .22lr
I have previously owned a ruger p95 9mm and a ruger 10/22.
One of these days I'm going to break down and buy another pistol. Maybe a glock or 1911. I'd also like a nice 22 target pistol....

Who wants to know...?  >:( ;D

Winchester, Ruger, S&W, Taurus 736 (daily friend), and a genuine, not-to-be-believed unless-you-shot-it, 1948 vintage Bernadelli-Beretta .25/6.35mm military vest-pocket "sidearm". This last one can knock you out of the booth: it penetrated 3 nailed-together 2x4 pine boards, then ricocheted off the concrete basement wall, the steel floor beam, passed near my father-in-law's nose (ZZZzzzz...), then penetrated the head of his 3 iron in the golf bag and embedded itself in the 2x4 stud behind the wallboard... (it actually happened in the basement, with witnesses...  :o ).  I LIKE this one!   :D

I LIKE GUNS!!! haha

day to day I prefer to carry my glock 27
It's a compact .40 S&W that fits nicely into my belt line with a conceal holster. 9 shots and the extra clip isn't a burden.
Add night sights and it's the perfect backup or conceal sidearm.
Plus the finger grip on the extended clip makes it feel like a full size pistol.

You guys have some pretty sweet guns.

I'd like to add a 1911 .45 and a AR15 .223 to my arsenal.  Seems like all my money either goes to guns or CBs.

I used to shoot rifle and shotgun in the boy scouts all the time so I decided to get back into target shooting.  After months of arduous paperwork, the Communist Worker's Paradise of New Jersey allowed me to have a pistol permit, but never ever a carry permit.

Berretta 92FS (very nice)
Sig Sauer Mosquito Sport (its alright)

On occasion I get to shoot my father's S&W .357 and Springfield Target .45
