« on: October 08, 2010, 01:56:50 PM »
I posted these earlier but someone who inquired about them said they were sold. I don't own a CB750....Just passing this on. The city is about 40 miles from me. I could assist anyone for paid time.

So, how about a link mate?  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Sorry..... http://slo.craigslist.org/mcy/1995920335.html
Wether they are a bargain or not, I don't know. I DO know that sometime later they may be worth twice that much! Case in point, In about 1986 I bought a NOS Okrasa kit to hop up the old 36hp VW engine. These kits were built in Germany in the 1950's and obsolete when I bought it. Stroker crank, New dual port heads, carbs and manafolds. I paid $600.00. I was going to build a nice period hot rod engine for my '55vw. I kept the kit in the box and in 2007, I sold the kit and a few engine related goodies for $16,700.00. nearly 30 times what I paid for it.
I can guarantee that those will only go up in price. And that's all I got to say about that.

Thanks for trying to help us out mate, 899 is pretty good for a set, I haven't seen them for sale for under 1000, and like you say, in years to come, they'll be worth a lot more! Cheers, Terry. ;D

GULP!!! $16,700 for an Okrasa kit! I had heard of the stuff back in the '70s, but, WOW... Wondering now what my Judson supercharger is worth? Ran it on my '57 in the SantaMaria/Orcutt area.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Probably nothing mate, best thing you could do is send it to me and I'll dispose of it thoughtfully, you can't be too careful with those nasty old parts...............  ;D

My Judson fits a VW 36 HP. You simply remove the Solex carb, bolt the blower on top of the manifold where the carb was, and relocate the stock carb to the top of the blower. The drive pulley bolts on top of the stock crankshaft pulley. There is also a drip feed oiling system. Ran way better with a bigger carb!!

(sorry for the thread-jack, motorhead, but you got me started when you brought up my old stompin' grounds, and then added to it with 36HP Okrasa! :D :D)

That sounds really cool mate, what sort of HP increase did you get out of the conversion? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Uh, the only dyno available back then to the common man was the "butt" dyno; not very accurate! To the best of my recollection, the single solex on the Judson, on an otherwise stock 36, ran about as well as my home-brew dual solex setup. However, with a small 2 barrel carb via a home made adapter atop the Judson, it ran quite a bit better...

Sounds good mate, have you ever thought about adapting it to a motorcycle application? Cheers, Terry.  ;D
