My 78 550k

I am currently working on my 1978 550k

After I stripped the fairing and vampire king queen seat off

 

New bars on, and secured tail lights and grab bar

 

Cleaned it up, got clutch throttle ect back on, took off cracked headlight, and currently waiting to put the new one on.



As of right now, I need new forks, exhaust, tires, carbs cleaned and a tune up(?), and a new master cylinder for the front front break.

I am not so worried as in getting to stock condition, as to getting it the way I want it to look. At this point the only changes that will be done to it when I am done is the handlebars, and the exhaust. That is also all I am planning to change. I love the look of the bike, and don't want to bastardize it.

The bike I purchased for 600 dollars with 12k miles on it.

 It is hard to start cold, needs starting fluid spray, but once warmed up will pop right off (any idea what to look up to solve this problem?)

Comments, complaints anything?

Is that a 750 rear wheel?  I've heard that the carbs on those K bikes don't run well cold, even when properly tuned.

I am not sure if it is the wheel from a 750, It does look a little bigger though. I guess I never really paid attention, cause the front forks drive me nuts, and gets all my attention. I will take a look next time I am messing around with it.
