Musicians

Recently Started up a blog for solo artists, or people in small bands. Primarily it's a resource for people who are really interested in music, but don't have the time or resources to try and work at it professionally. A nice community in which to share their music with a larger audience (i.e. the world  ;D).

If you'd like to submit your stuff, you can post a link or email me.(info available on the blog.)

I used to be pretty heavy into DJing, still have all my records but don't have my turntables set up. I played a mashup style rooted in hip hop and jungle with a bunch of random stuff tossed in. Here's an old mix I did, I rushed it and half assed a bit so it's not as good as it could have been but I'm still proud of it.

I'll learn a real instrument one of these days, I'd like to work my way up to a violin eventually. I figure I'll start on keyboard, then to guitar, banjo, and violin. I have no idea when I'll actually take the first step though, I've got other dreams I'm focused on right now.

Hey,
Yea i know what you mean, there are a ton of instruments I'd love to learn, Chello, Violin, Different guitar styles alone leave my head spinning with the possibilities.
I hope you do get a chance to pick up an instrument. I see a lot of things go for pretty cheap on craigslist. Like violins that were used by students, or cool electric organs, keyboards etc. if you're willing to part with about a $100, you can prob get yourself started at least.

I like the mix, pretty cool. I wouldn't want to post it just cause of copyright issues, but it'd be really interesting to hear the sort of music you'd play on an instrument after a DJ background.
Esp The ones you mentioned.

Cool stuff  :)

I'll do it some day, I'm just focused on saving money and planning some travel right now. I've seen a lot of stuff on craigslist as well. I found a keyboard in my father's basement a few weeks ago and was pretty excited, it didn't work. Some day.

Thank you for the kind words, I didn't expect you to post it, I just wanted to share :)

I'll have to keep an eye on this site of yours occasionally to find some new music.
