Road sign reflective paint for my K3?
« on: October 08, 2010, 05:49:34 PM »
You know the super reflective white paint they use on road signs?

I'm thinking that would look killer on a K3.

Anybody know where I can get that stuff? Maybe in a rattle can?  ;D

I'm quasi serious. I'm SICK of clueless drivers not seeing me on my pre-dawn commute.

You can get rattle can reflective clear at most places that sell spray paint.  Although, if the other drivers don't notice your headlight I'm not so sure they'll see your reflective paint either.  With some people you could be covered in neon lights with a full-size lighthouse on top of your head and they would still pull out in front of you.

French actually.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vespa_150_TAP

You can get reflective sticker paper like material by the sheet.  Works great on fairings but you can stick some on the tank and back of the seat.

Road signs use retroreflective material with small prisms to direct the light back at you. Easier to do on a flat surface, wouldn't do much good on anything other than flat surfaces.

I've seen jackets with retroreflective tape on them, worked fine.  In fact seen people wearing it at night, when I first spotted them I was like "WHAT is THAT? ... oh it's a guy with reflective tape on his jacket"
