Salvage yards in midwest
« on: March 08, 2006, 03:25:44 AM »
Anyone know of any good salvage yards in the midwest? Like say from Omaha to Twin Cities area? Always looking for a good source of more junk.

Jay, I don't live in or know anything about the midwest but, I would like to know about the
southwest myself. In fact, a post on salvageyards and the areas they are in. You know, kind of like the ebay name listing. Maybe someone will give you the info you need. Later on, Bill

Fixated, That's a factory looking race 450 DOHC. I think the model is CR450. I don't remember where I found it for sure. I liked the look and the fact that I have some CB450s, which I'd like to try to build one to look similar to it, helps. If I remember, or find the site again, I'll let you know because I'm not too good at posting pictures yet. Til then, Later on. Bill

You know, I think I have seen a 500 or 550 fixed up similar to it though, I'll keep you posted

Board user DRAGMAN56 has tons of CB parts, and located in Indiana.
Their is a place called Albrects FastTrak in Des Plaines Illinois (about 2min from my house) that is basically a sportbike graveyard.  would get ahold of them to see if they have any "classic" CB parts.

  Fixated,
I found where I got the CR450 photo so, if you wanted to check it out. You might get some ideas for your bike, who knows? I don't know how to post a link, so bear with me.

Check it out, it's quite interesting and I'll keep racking my brain (or what's left of it) to see
if I can remember where I've seen the 500 or 550 set up like it. Later on, Bill

    Hey Guy,
I understand how you can be "Fixated" on that bike. Looking good! Those painted stock pipes
give a look, similar to the megaphones used on the racing Hondas, without being as loud. Not bad.
Gotta go for now. Later on,  Bill

Alright, where IS this place???? (Albrects FastTrak in Des Plaines Illinois) I gotta go check this place out.  What's the address?
BTW, I was refered to this place in Wisc. from a mechanic at DuPage Honda:
Wisconsin Cycle Salvage
1038 Winchester Rd.
Neenah, WI 54956

Never been there, it's just a reference.
