Some of you old timers might remember my friend Joe(joeb on this forum). He was struck by a car that ran a light while on his way to work this week. The car hit him square in the side as he was making a protected turn, causing extensive damage to his foot and ankle and separating his shoulder.
I visited Joe in the hospital yesterday and he is in good spirits in spite of his injuries. However, he will not be able to return to work and will be giving up motorcycling for good. The older ya get the harder it is to bounce back from these injuries, and family obligations take priority over all else, so I fully support Joe on his decision.
Joe is taking a double hit by being disabled and unable to work, and having to give up a long time passion of his. If you can, please take a moment to send good thoughts and well wishes his way after you read this. Joe is a strong, hard-headed individual and is by no means "down for the count." But some good thoughts and prayers will certainly help see him through the weeks to come.
Thanks,
Sean C.
