thanks guys. hopefully the rattlecan job holds up for a while. I still have a headache from the fumes. That price is really good and I definitely want to hear how it works out. That is definitely in my budget.

Looks like I borked the wiring more than I thought. All but one of the wires was correctly color coded. Looks like it may be time for some new glasses.

Patrick is trying to figure it out for me at a price I can afford. Apparently when trying to pull out the switches for the new handlebars I pulled some solder connections loose so that has slowed him down considerably from it just being a color match job.

If anyone wants to chime in after reading what he has discovered then its at this thread.

At least its cold outside so I am not really missing any riding time. hindsight is 20/20 I guess. next time Ill just use a power saw to get the old bars off...

I am lucky enough to have Patrick as my PO. We must have exchanged over 100 emails just since I bought the bike a few months ago. Like Ive said before, my last bike was 30 years newer than this one and all I did was ride the hell out of it.  I think he might have the power figured out now.

This is where I am at now. My integrated tail light bit the dust. my bracket under my seat was too low. Going to redesign the seat bump. Its not very stable anyway. Thats going to suck because my dad lives about 450 miles away. So hopefully I can be detailed enough to not have to mail it back and forth.


So went and picked up a trailer light for the stop light. doesnt look too bad. and it works. the integrated one wasnt very bright anyway. ordered new turn signals for the back. probably just mount them to the seat.




So not too shabby.

Heres what she was when I got her. Probably better handling on the highway. But most of our journeys are to school and back.


And its not too different from my plans a couple months ago.

Thanks. It does look nice, but it was a function over form decision. This bike is terribly difficult to get up on the center stand. One of these days Ill get a bike jack.

One of the turn signals had come loose. The nut holding the light in on the inside is too small, but I straightened it out. I need to find some bigger ones to go in there, just havent had the time.
