Get it! You'll regret passing on it if you do especially when you see one on the road.

The gent still has the bike.  We may hook up again on Monday. I think he was a tad firm on the original $3,000, now open to offers.

    Repeating myself here but:

So to the previous poster who says it's worth 9k+ with a full resto, whats it worth all cleaned up (not resto'ed) if the plastics including airbox are cracked with some serious discoloration on a section of 1 sidecover (due to riding with leathers chaps?) and the chrome is pitted but can probably be cleaned up a bit.  32,000 miles.  Also a quarter sized hole in rear portiion of the ducktail seat.

Again  asking here.......did these stock exhaust pipes in 1969 not have part numbers engraved into them?  These dont and it seems i read somewhere that in fact they dont have numbers on them, but I am not sure??????

If you have the 3k to spend get it for as cheap as you can, clean it up and ride it as is. It can be restored after you enjoy it a while.

If the pipes don't have the part number on them and are in restorable shape, then they are original.

I believe the VERY early pipes didn't have numbers on them, later K0 and K1 have HM300 stamped on them near where the header joins the muffler. If they don't have numbers and are in good shape they will be worth a bit of money. Post pics if you can.
If it has (from pics I have of an 11/69 build): wrinkles or folds in the metal when you look at the gas tank through the opening, a piece of plastic on the key, a sunk ignition switch, a front fender with blade type ends rather than rolled ends - run back to this guy and buy the bike. It's a keeper.
Buy the bike.
Cliff.

Thanks for the add'l input guys.  I has all the early 750k features that I am aware of.  BTW exhaust pipes looked fine. No pipe blue no rust. God on my '74, that i still have, the suckers rusted out every 4 yrs or so where the pipe flares & bends upward.  Seems the earlier K pipes were louder too??????

     Krinkle tank (in mint condition)
Short chain grd. (hole drilled in it to put an extension piece on it)
     Colored air boxes (cracked)
Duck tail seat (quarter sized hole toward the rear)
     Cut frt fender (some piting)
     Correct clocks
Colored upper frt forks (vs. chromed)
     Single throttle cable
Kill switch (i cant recall was it red or blk.)
Is the rear fender also unique to K0's?
     Colored headlight bucket

     32,000 miles

I am sure I missed a couple other unique features???

I goota check for a tool kit, too.  I almost forgot

It is missing rear tail light lense. Anything unusuaL ABOUT THE early K's tailight lenses?  Sometimes i think they had dates dates engraved on them or am i thinking of automobile tailight lenses?  I got a few extras kicking around from mid 70's 750 K's.

Offer him $2200, maybe he'll say 2500, and get it!

Sounds like you would regret it if you let it slide by.

Good Luck.

It will be taken out side and started and run once a price is agreed upon.

 :o

Wow.

EDIT: Sorry, hadn't read whole thread - short-attention span'll get you every time.  If there's wiggle room in the price after hearing it run (or not run, be that the case), then that's a different story.

Mrirggi, thats what I am hoping for, a low-mid 2000's price.

Like another poster said, I dont wanna PO him with too low initial offer.

I mean like all of us, if we ask $30.00 for something , most often we'd probably like to get $25.00 for it and hoping for at least $22.00 or $23.00

I would want to hear it run and ride it, if possible, before making an offer.
