Amen Savior Plunger frame spring install ?????????
« on: October 17, 2010, 12:50:09 PM »
Does anyone here have first hand experience installing the plunger springs in the suspension of an old school Amen's Savior frame?  I have spring compressors, have made two different special tools, and I still have no idea how this is supposed to go together.  Thanks all!!!

There is a special tool for putting them in, I sold mine to a member on here.
Cant remember exactly what was there, but it worked well.. Might be able to build one, if there is no other options..

"Special tool"  Its a threaded rod with a big washer and a nut on it.  Install is the same as reverse.  The pdf that was posted explains it all.  BTW they are still a pain in the ass to assemble/disassemble even with the "special tool".

Tank, that was exactly the tool I made first.  I ended up using the instructions on hondachopper.com and got it together last night.  I am planning to put locating bolts in the rear as they have in the front.  This, combined with new bushings top and bottom, should result in a tight and reliable plunger. Thanks for the help guys.
