what master cylinder for my twin discs CB550
« on: October 11, 2010, 11:12:32 AM »
hi all

i have fitted twin discs to my CB550 cafe racer, using a Kawasaki ZX400 master cylinder & lever

this doesnt seem to be good enough can anyone advise a master cylinder & lever from a stock bike that would work with the twin disc setup

i have new standard calipers fitted

would it be the mater cylinder piston size that matters

thanks andy

bought this one here, its the same as the gl1100 which is recommended for the swap (he charges different prices for the same exact m/c). Brand new, good quality, have seen no complaints.

Have not used it yet, build in progress

That is identical to the one Suzuki uses on their DRZ 400s. I plan on using it for my 310mm disk swap.

I'm using a master from a '77 cb750 ss. It came stock with dual disc. Works great and looks the part, it's a little taller than the one I pulled off my 500.
