Paulages fit one on his 550/650/735 hybrid. Also an old 900. Doesn't look like that, though.

Send a private message to Paulages.
No.

Hello Valerio, the tank in your picture is for a 1975 900ss. The one in the pic must be hand made because it's aluminum and they were fiberglass stock. Airtech makes a fiberglass version. check out their website.

Screw the glass tanks guys,go with the alloy and never have to worry about leaks and poor quality fuels eating the tank..

You may not have bad fuel but don't you think alloy looks better than glass.... ;D ;)

Come on now Mick, surely you're not questioning the quality of Italian engineering?  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well the old Guzzi's are the pick of the bunch, I've owned both an old Ducati and an old Laverda and (engineering wise) they were shiit! ;D

Hey Terry in OZ! watch those anti - duc comments! I have 2 bevel drive twins and I think that motor is a masterpeice. Oops, I had better be nice I need to pick your brain a h#ll of a lot more on my new/crap K1. By the way I have had to suffer the indignity of a stock steel tank on my 900ss since I've owned it. I am going to guess that tank was made by a Brit or an Aussie, just because they seem to love their bikes that much. that thing is probably 1200.00 us.

Ha ha, sorry mate, the old 900SS I had was the most beautiful motorcycle that I've owned, it had the best brakes, and the staccato boom from the conti's was incredible, I could set off car alarms up and down my street on a quiet Sunday morning.

The problem was that for a while in the 1970's, all desmo Ducati's were built on Friday afternoons, and the QA team must have knocked off work at lunchtime. My bike was a well maintained, low mileage bike, but by the time the mechanics split the cases to have a looksee, the hardening on the gears was gone, the crank pin assembly was buggared and the clutch had said goodnight.

I could have spent the 6000 bucks to repair the engine, but for the same money I could buy a good low mileage BMW K100RT, which carried me for another 30,000 miles without a hint of trouble. No character, no pose value, just trouble free motorcycling. I do want another SS, but I'd probably pop for a DOHC Monster instead, I've heard that they're a little more reliable nowadays? ;D

back to the subject :) just pointed towards those kits because they are so good looking and oh-so seventies, cant recall paul's duc tank but hard to argue with the fit of the bimota sohc specific kit. just got the feeling that a 900's tank will dwarf a 500's engine proportion wise,

http://www.motocicliveloci.it/italiano/catalogo/replicabimota.htm

there are still some people that know how to bang a decent ally tank here,

round the corner from where i work in Monza there's Libanore who used to do the tanks for GP MV's and Laverdas, he did the bodywork for these Triumphs.

With a little work, anything's possible. The tunnel is plenty large to fit the frame, it's just a matter of fabricating mounts. The picture you posted looks like a tank from T.A. Baker or the Tank Shop, if I remember right... If so, they could likely fab the bottom tunnel to fit a CB frame...

Hello, in europe there are a lot of firms that produce aluminium tank...
It fits on the frame, but I dont know if it fits in the "right way".I don't want that it seems to be only "supported" on the frame, or too distant from the engine, or too distant to the fork etc...
your bike is beautyfull, but I don't have the front "wind protection" and the tank must fit perfectly on the bike;)

For the italian friend on the forum, I have to advise Europlastucci near Rimini (they produce the tanks for motocicliveloci, but they sell them half price...100/150 euro included expedition)

thank you!

if someone have some advise for a tank for a four 500, I would appreciate it..
I don't like the square and sharp RC style....
My seat is similar to the paulages one.
take care
