RE: The K0 CB 750 I was looking at

Well he said it had to be gone by last Friday. Called him today and he still has it. Offered him 2,300, (he's asking 3,000).  Hoping to settle at maybe 2,600 or so.  Response was:

"Oh gosh no Joe, but TY for your interst anyway. Have a nice day"

I strongly suspect he has offers above his asking price of $3,000.  When i looked at it last week he claims to have had many inquires, some offering to buy it right over the teelphone with not even any pics on the listing.   He seems to have hinted that maybe he was going to take the original listing down and relist it at a higher price.  That was not done, but the listing did expire ( not taken down) last Thursday.  MC listings last about a week here before they automatically expire due to space constraints, I assume.

Stay tuned, i guess.  I kinda think if my assumptions are correct that he will re list it at a higher price.

Why would you think he has had offers over $3K?
I think if he had, it would had sold.

Somebody might have told him what it's worth.........  ;)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

You shoiuld've been in front of his face with the cash in hand. At least get a sense of how much he wants for it.

My gut tells me he's not hard up for cash, but one never knows in this economy

Bike been off the road for years now he' s selling it as the non riding season approaches.  Then again K0 restoration lovers dont buy based merely on the time of year it is.

Some one on a previous post re thsi topic sent a link of a mint looking Red K0 in Calif. for $3,500.  Link is gone now.  The one i was looking at with cracked air box and 2 cracked side covers i am thinking mid to high $2,000's was in definteley in ball park.  A old Honda resto expert in my area also said similarly.

Who knows.obvioulsy some on else feels it's worth more

I did look at it 9 days ago (Tues. 10-5). The add started the previous friday(10-1).  Guy said he of lots of interest in it including people telling him they'd give him teh 3,000 right now if they were closer by to him.

The add automatically run out last friday ( 10-8). I called him last thursday (10-7) and he said he'd still have it after the weekend and was taking offers even though he previously said he wanted it gone by friday (10-8).

Still had it Tuesday after the long weeknd which is when i callled him.   Basically just blew of my call and offer in about 5 seconds....."thanks for the offer but no thanks"  LOL.  No sure what to think now. If a gun was to may head Id have to say it was probably sold at this point as it' s been 2 weeks now.

Then again, If I was in his shoes and had offers above asking price I would consider relisting it at even higher price.  He does state in the add it's a collectible MC   Said he doesnt do e-bay.

Ho hum .... can't marry all the pretty girls    !!!!!!

I'd call him 1 more time, but no phone offers.
See if you can meet w/him and if you really like it, then make him an offer. And if your really serious, bring cash, it's hard to turn down hundreds waving in your face!

If you think you want it, buck up & pay..

Not hard for him to figure out, that it is VERY desireable..
maybe he came on here & looked around..

Anyway its a 5 star bike, let it go.. might be a long and more expensive  time, before you get a crack at another..

You do know that it is about the 2nd most desireable production 4 out of japan.. you do realize that ..I hope..

What 754 said, go get it. You may want to marry THIS pretty girl! Bring cash. These do not come along that often. Since my first CB750 in 1969 I have only seen 4 K0's and one of those is mine now - I crashed to other one.

I just sold my 1/70 build K0 "project" bike (running, rideable, but rough) for $7500.00. ($7417.50 US) I only really sold it because it was taking up valuable space in my wallet, er, garage, and I had just about everything here to build another one, less a frame, but Eric has fixed that for me, so shortly I'll be building another K0.

All CB750's are great bikes, but as Frank has said, the K0 is probably the second most collectable Japanese bike in the world right now, so if you get the opportunity to pick one up now, do so while you can still afford to, it's better (and safer) than money in the bank. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Terry: What do you consider the 1st most collectable? Just curious, had never thought about it.

Yep, the Z1 is probably the most collectable, but a really good sandcast K0 will probably bring more money. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Yeah Terry, I think the sandcast cb's are a little more than a Z1 if they are super nice. Isold a nice 73 Z1 to Australia last year for 12k. I paid 4k and couldn't pass it up. Now I am hoping to find another one to keep. Hopefully a green 74. The 72 H2 kawi comes close as well.

Yes mate, I cry myself to sleep most nights thinking about my Z1 I bought for 1600 bucks with only 5000 miles on the clock, and sold a couple of years later for 1600 bucks, with 10,000 miles on the clock. It'd be worth 10 times that now...........  :'(

And yeah, the old Kawa 750 "widow-maker" is very collectable now too. I remember racing a guy the 200 miles to my folks place in 1979, he was on a H2 and I was on a Suzuki GT750M, he could kick my arse, but we'd have to stop every 50 miles or so, so he could change the plugs. We'd both have to stop every 80 or 90 miles to fill the tanks back up again, those big two strokes were thirsty! ;D
