Masterchiefs Drag Bike.
« on: October 13, 2010, 08:05:24 AM »
well had a spare motor laying around so i decided that something needed to be done with it. its getting a 836 kit and all that good stuff to go with it. finally found a frame its a 74 frame the motor is a 78 was going to do a resto but with only having a frame and front and rear suspension decided on a cafe, everyone needs a fast cafe. pics to come friday when i get the frame. wont be much progress on this until i get my other project done but want to get the build thread started to force myself to be a little more detailed than my current project. this is going to be long and drawn out so dont hold your breath for this thing to be done.

I apologize, saw the title masterchief and assumed you were in the navy. Noticed that you are only 21 so apparently you just like Halo hahaha. Either way good luck on your build. Ill try to start a thread with mine in it.

could paint it green, grey, and black and have some niks/scars on it. There are alot of helmets out there that look like halo helmets. Could go with the UNSC (or whatever it is) logos too. Kind of a futuristic military bike. Just ideas lol.

here we go pics, im going to make this very pic heavy and document better than my current build

stock honda ignition connector? or redneck engineering at its best, the wiring harness is in less than perfect shape but it will keep me from having a bunch of crap to deal with

not too much rust on the frame, its obviously not the stock bars and it was laid down left controls are scuffed and the rights are missing a chunk, i would like to salvage them because they have the on/off switch for the headlight but who knows we shall see, the swingarm needs rebuilt it wobbles like 4-5mm side to side, new front fork tubes, havent decided on clip-ons or clubmans, will cross that bridge once there. still no thoughts on paint scheme, maybe siler and black or i a dark metallic blue and a deep metallic orange, something different.

Bars are not stock as Honda had the wires go through the bars.  You probably have large chunks removed from the switches so the wires can be routed along the bars. Did you get a title with the frame?...Larry

Make sure you can get a title before you put a lot of time and money into the build. You may wind up with a useless build, don't ask how I know :-[...Larry

Okay cool.

I'm actually interning in Toledo in the Spring. I could roll up there with the tank and we could meet up for a beer or something.

heres a concept i drew up for this one. i wanna make it with scrambler style pipes that exit under tail. might make it so it goes 4-2 on the side oil tank built into the gastank maybe, might look for another location for that not thrilled about that one but i may still do it. have some ideas for that

decided im going in a different direction since it could be a real pita to get a title for this frame, DRAG BIKE!(THANKS ALOT SAM!!!!) ive raced cars here and there at the strip(not street racing) and want to do it on bikes. i think i could be pretty competetive as my reaction times in the past were pretty good. Heres what im thinking.
-small gas tank
-stock carbs
-stacks
-850 kit
-cam of some sort
-total loss ignition
-dyna 2000
-rear struts
-head work
-springs, retainers
-loweredslammed front end
-drag pipes
-clipons

and other stuff. progress will start later this summer stay tuned this could get interesting
