What do ya think?
« on: October 13, 2010, 12:51:42 PM »
I am going to visit a friend of mine down in central IL, about 113 miles. Well I had this crazy idea that I might like to ride my 750f down.

Is the total round trip of 226mi a crazy idea knowing that I have my timing a lil bit off, carbs arent synced, and he valves need to be adjusted?

It would most likely be all highway driving but me and my other friend might pull off and go on some back roads.

Thoughts?

I say go for it.  Watch out for gusty winds.

Why don't you just adjust the valves?  Doesn't take that long.  The other stuff just live with.

trip to autozone:  10mm wrench, stubby flathead screwdriver, sufficiently fine feeler gauges.  Can use an adjustable one on the caps and no household is complete without one of those anyway.

I'm sure there's something I'm missing about the situation.

Where specifically are you going?

Can you find someone who has some tools? Carb sync and valve adjustment can be done in an hour  and relatively easy if you got them tools. If you were closed to me, I would have helped you on that.
When I got my bike, she loved to brake down and got me stranded. (charging problem that took me long time to fix). It was not fun sitting by the side of highway waiting for help, but it will be nice story to tell later.

I have been to Bloomington /Normal. It is sister city to my hometown. Maybe your friend knows some guy with tools there.

  Go for it.

I can't ride my bike. I my pretty damn sure that I got some bad gas at the gas station on monday.

Bike was running well on monday and today when I went to ride it, it was acting funny. The gas was a bit cloudy and had setament in it . Didn't really think anything about it until today.  :(
