Rant about society
« on: October 13, 2010, 09:46:51 AM »
Well, I woke up today to find that someone was nice enough to run into my subaru last night, and leave of course. A few months ago someone was nice enough to key my car fender trunk to fender. I just think it is so nice that people in my community keep me from having spending money. I just do not understand how people can be so inconsiderate. I do my job as a citizen and help out anyone who needs help generally. I am a full time student, member of the US Navy, and work to pay bills/ auto repairs (thanks again). I leave for Afghanistan at the end of the year and it makes me angry that I am supporting the civil liberties of people that do nothing but cause anguish to all the honest people out there.

I am not asking for sympathy or recognition, I am merely stating that it is hard for honest people out there to not have a sort of patriot decay when the things they work hard for are ruined by others. I recieved a summons to court last Friday because I was a witness of a man choking a woman at work. I felt it was my job as a citizen to tell the officer at the scene of the crime that I would be willing to testify in court. So many terrible people walk the streets because there were no witnesses (or witnesses didnt show up to court) to their crime. I showed up to court in a regular shirt and tie (dressed more appropriately than the people who were actually going before the judge) and waited 3 or 4 hours till his case came up. Once the case came up the prosecuter said they were unable to contact any witnesses and the case was delayed till 2011 (ill be out of the country by then). I went up and made my presence known and the prosecuter basically told me that they didnt need me and that he had another trial coming up anyway. Not sure why they sent me a summons in the first place then.

Like I said, this is a rant and im sorry if I sound stupid. I am sure others out there feel the same way I do though. I have met alot of nice people on this forum and am happy to be a member. This seems to be a great community filled with knowledge and overall helpfullness between members. Again I am sorry if I sound ridiculous I just had to get out my frustration somehow.

Don't fret for too long man, there are good people out there, more good than bad or else this place would be total chaos.

You just have to file some of those bad things down the memory hole, but make sure you learn from any mistakes that might have led to the bad result of course.

That is really good advice, ill try to find something positive in all this. Would definately help if I didnt have to park on the street.

You're doing the right thing. Stay positive. Don't let the douchebags get to you.

When you get down about crap you don't have any control of, that's the best time to get out your helmet, get on the bike, and head for the country! Troubles really seem to melt away by the mile. Just don't get pulled over by Johnny Law.

I wont have to worry about a speeding ticket because its in 3000 pieces right now hahaha. Doing a k5 cafe build, should be done in a few months. I imagine I will thoroughly enjoy your suggestion once it is done though.
