How does this happen ? cylinders oval

Long time LURKER ;)
Does anyone know how this happened ?
 overheating...?
block or head worth anything more than a paper weight ?

Looks like a normal F2 head to me.

I should have been clear.
The block (cylinders) look great / normal
the head gasket and heads had that odd look (oval)
