Support DSS, that company is one good friend of us rebuilders, many of us wouldn't be still riding our bikes without David Silver Spares. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I bought a sweet center stand from them this last year for my VFR.
Damn things are unobtanium for my RWB here.

I haven't bought anything from them yet but its only because I'm in the states and have access to more local vendors. That does not mean for one second that I don't care if DSS is out there. I have heard nothing but good things about them in the 7 years I have been here and there will be a time real soon when I will be knocking on their door for parts (tank trim comes to mind...........awesome!!!!). I hope they carry on as always and I give them a thumbs up all the way!!!!

Well, I think we should get an online petition going.

Has anyone searched for parts on their site lately?
I was searching for a set of 4-2 exhaust that I've seen there before and they now list exactly THREE parts for my CB500! Valve stem, caps, brake pads and something else I can't remember.
Nothing even shows up under "pattern parts", which I take it to mean aftermarket.

Has this new action caused them to not even be able to list parts for sale? Even aftermarket exhaust?

Just checked their site and it does look to be very sparse when you search by model.  However, if you know the specific part number, many more items seem to be available.  I suspect that they need some major site updating, maybe caused by their recent change in policy for eliminating models after 2002.

So can we make aftermarket parts but just not ever refer to them as Honda or for a Honda? Is this purely because of the Honda logo and part numbers?

i had an email reply, looks good.
Dear Sir,
Please re-check our site now as the update is now completed.  Apologies for any inconvenience.
Regards
Mark

From 1st June 2011, we will only sell parts for models which were sold before 2002. This will allow us to focus on the market that we specialise in, and hence provide a better service. If you require parts for models later than this, please contact your local Honda dealer.

I saw this too. So we should hopefully be unaffected. Heck, maybe even slightly better off.

Their response to me too:

Dear Sir,
The web site was being updated last night so items were temporarily removed, please re-check now and the lists should have returned in full.
Regards

DSS site has been updated. For 750K1 model there appears to be more parts available than before.  Some prices have gone up, but I suppose it depends on availability.   I hope there is a typo for the complete exhaust system (HM 300's) - 1995 GBP; I purchased mine in March for 1075 GBP.
