Have you ever seen a photo of your bike somewhere else...
« on: October 15, 2010, 12:35:46 PM »
...and you weren't the one to put it there?

I've seen some of the same bikes over and over on several forums.  And we post a lot of bikes in our Inspiration Gallery thread.  I've never ran across my bike anywhere yet.  How about you?  If so, where have you seen your bike posted?

No, but I had someone call me out on using HIS bike picture.  I posted a picture of a Canadian CX650E in a thread about the CX line of Hondas.  Said what a great-looking bike I thought those were.  He replied that it was HIS bike in front of HIS house and where did I get the photo?  Google, I says...  :)

I never owned a bike that was post-worthy, except maybe as one of those "LOL" kind of pictures...

I saw my bike at perthstreetbikes.com and I didn't put it there. I saw on my photobucket several hits from their site so I went looking around and found it, cool but weird.
This is the thread, actually some really cool bikes there.http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/forum/f14/cafe-racers-thread-44173/

Sort of a shame Brimmer isn't around anymore.  I'd like to hear his answer.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

You're absolutely right!  Bad choice of words on my part.  Not "called out" as in "hey bub, I'm callin' you out, and I'm mad...."  but as in "hey, that's my bike! :)  "  And I had purely found it previous in a Google Images search.

(I STILL think they're great-looking bikes.  :)  )

It was a Friday night at the back end of September 1971. I returned home from work to find my wife going ballistic at the front door. "You're on the front page of the Guardian" she screemed. It was a few weeks before I was due to attack British speed records in the 175 class on my Honda Benly. The promoter of the event had found a picture of the back of my helmet and sent it in to the Warrington Guardian newspaper as a local interest story. :D

On another occasion, I was looking through MotorcycleUSA.com for an American drag racing article that I had picked up on from a link on another forum, imagine my surprise when I connected and found a picture of me competing in a sprint in the next column. :o
It turned out that the editor Ken Hutchinson had taken part in the same meeting and decided to write about it in his own mag and include a picture of myself, thanks Ken. ;D

Perhaps the saddest thing is when everyone in the world seems to have seen you on TV and you missed it. From 2000 when the white leathers came on the scene through to 2005,
I had competed in the Thundersprint which was televised by a satellite TV company called Men and Motors. They screened it about 3 or 4 times a month throughout the year and not having a satellite system, I never got to see it. It didn't bother me much but what did bother me was when mates shouted out across a packed pub on a Saturday night......"hey Greenie, saw you on telly again last night" >:( >:( >:( then everyone in the pub turns and stares at you, real embarrassing. ::)

I saw mine on the last episode of Cafe Racer on HD Theater.  It was only for a second and I was riding it.  ;D  It was at the Dallas Mods vs Rockers.

Sam that reminds me of when I was in my 20s and acting in films and doing stunt work.
I did a film for the (Knowledge Network). I had the lead role playing a guy who took another guy's eye out in a bar fight, very low budget. My phone would start ringing as friends would see it on TV. They ran that dumb movie over and over for 2 years ::)

I was at a Swap meet a few years back and there was a guy selling prints of my bike.  It was very funny especially when I recognized the scenary in the background.
