drum brake light switch
« on: March 10, 2006, 06:24:49 PM »
I have a 72 cb350f and it had drum brakes all around. the problem is that the brake light switch is missing. since, I believe, the 350f's came with disk I am not sure of where to even begin searching for this part. if in fact the original 350f's did come with drums up front, does anyone know of a part number. the switch is so small that I can't find another that will fit in its spot. i ordered a right hand assembly off of a 73 cb350f and it doesn't have a switch because its hydraulic. any advise it considered helpful, thanks...s

If I'm not mistaken you are referring to the Little spring/rubber widget on the brake lever mount on the Handel bar.
When I started my 72CL350 restoration the front brake handel did not light up the rear light. Having mucked around with it over the winter I saw that the rubber pin with spring was broken off. I used another one from a spare bike but have not started bike yet so I don't know if I sorted it out yet.

Could a CL350 switch work?

I have no experience with the front drums until now, but that's my thought on the problem.
I can take a photo if it helps at all.
