Russ Collins (RC) 70's Headers for sale?
« on: November 19, 2010, 04:45:12 PM »
I just aquired a set of RC Engineering headers from thr 70's in good condition that appear to be for the CB750..........

Approx, 12.250" C/C on outer 2 pipes and 5.1" C/C on the 2 inner.

Head tubes are all parallel, don't know if it is for a 750, all I know is that it doesn't fit my 550-

Also, the configuration would force you to run a plate with lines to an oil cooler/remote filter it seems...The header pipes are tight in the middle-

Can (silencer) is chopped just aft of the collector about 4", but besides some small dings on the underside of the collector (I was going to Mig) it seems 100% serviceable.

Anybody interested? If they are in fact 750 headers-

If the measurements sound CB750 I will take some pics-

Dents are not as bad as they appear, but they are there. The headers feel very heavy duty, and I have the RC can with baffle. I don't need more stuff around-

750 has inclined cylinder, 500 is straight up. 750 mounting flanges are splayed 500 are all straight across..

I think they made early and late versions, and yes the pipes look quite symetrical.

Man I would love a set but  its too tight right now.

The RC Engineering pipe for the CB750 has alot of room around the oil filter.  This is a pic of an RC Engineering exhaust for the CB750.  This bike had a Lockhart oil cooler on it and you can see how much room there still is around the oil filter.  I ended up throwing these pipes out during a move.  I posted them on this board many years ago for sale and no one wanted them.  Funny how times change.

Gotta agree, its not CB750. I saw a lot of those over the years. They were "domesticated" performance pipes meaning the access to oil filter was unimpeded and also use of centerstand, tho that is not discussed so far.
