Honda cb550k four 77 re-jet
« on: October 13, 2010, 02:21:56 PM »
Hey guys! I've got a 77 550k four and was wondering if anyone can find #110 main jets or even anything higher than the stock 90? I've podded the carbs and put on 4 to 1 headers no baffles so i definitely need to size up the main jet. Anyone have any idea where to find some large main jets!? I've been searching the internet for weeks now and I'm going nuts! Also i ran the bike to see if my new (old) headers would seal but exhaust is smoking out of the block, need new gaskets i suppose.

These guys have everything you need

http://www.siriusconinc.com/

I have the same bike as you and I know they carry up to 130 mains for the PD style carbs used on the 77/78 550K. They also carry various slow jets, and probably have the exhaust gaskets you need as well.

Their website is a little difficult to search, but if you give them a call they're very helpful.

I think the Sirius guys have a store on eBay; I got a selection from them. Can't recall off the top of my head if I used 115's or 120's with pods and a 4-into-1, but it runs a lot better with the right jetting. Only problem is going up into the mountains, where 7000+ ft makes a really rich mix.
