removing kreem tank liner
« on: March 10, 2006, 06:52:24 AM »
I put some kreen tank liner in my 72 cb350f and the liner appear to be seperating from the tank walls. now its like a plastic bag in my tank. i now need to remove the liner because it is inhibiting fuel from flowing to the petcock, any suggestions. I have heard of using acetone or some stuff called MEK. anyone have any experience on the subject? thanks in advance...s

The Kreem tank liner material is an M E K based material {Methyl Ethyl Keytone}also dissolves it...
if you get about a quart of the stuff, and put it in the tank, slosh it around, after a day
or so it will dissolve the Kreem, and it will come out in chunks, you will have to strain the
MEK, and do this a couple times{I learned from experience}Be careful...
CAUTION .Highly flammable!!!..This stuff is hazardous use it outside, don't breathe it,
and use chemical gloves, don't get it on your skin.KEEP IT OFF PAINTED PARTS...
Now I hope I havn't scared you too much,
If you can reach iinside and pull out as much of the loose stuff first you will be ahead of the
      game. Do be Careful....
                Hope it helps
