question on raising the rear of the bike
« on: October 21, 2010, 04:29:03 PM »
okay guys I have a question and hopefully can get a lot of feedback tonight because I need to decide in 23 hours. I am needing to raise the rear of the bike and I am either going to buy longer shocks or get lowering blocks and turn them around. which do you guys thinks is the better choice?

I've no personal experience with the blocks, but from what I've read on here about them I'd say find some longer shocks for sure.
Would the blocks really work that way?

The blocks are going to change the angle of the shock which affects everything. Perceived spring weights, damping etc.

Longer shocks would be my choice.

A big "no" the lowering block idea.
Get longer shocks.
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.

I'd get the newest shocks you can find, especially if they can be rebuilt.  Maybe that info can be found on the DOHC sites like www.cb1100f.net ?
