Just an idea from NHRA Top Alcohol racers, To replace the high pressure additives recently removed from oil, they add a quart of rear end lube to five gallons of oil. The lube still contains the zinc and other high pressure aditives. It is much cheaper than additives you can buy and if it works on a 2500 hp blown engine with the oil full of methanol blow-by it's good enough for anything I own. They put the used oil in a metal container with a nitrous bottle heater on it and cook off the methanol from the used oil and run it again.

Top fuel dragsters don't run wet clutches.  What, exactly, are these additives you're talking about?

Those additives also help out gears and rocker arms.

I think it is mostly zinc and cadmium maybe moly not sure, just some info for those who want to know mostly usless info. Many modern oils have these additives removed for emissions reasons. Racers recently have had major problems with breaking in new flat tappet cams for this reason and also offshore cheap lifter cores.
  I have used Royal Purple synthetic race oil from my dragster in my 750 and yes, it did make the clutch slip.

Rislone just released an engine oil supplement that contains ZDDP, zinc and phosphorous. The additives that have been used in our bikes for years but were removed in newer oils. They protect lifters, cams, piston shirts etc. Looking for a link
