Picked up a 75 CB550k a couple months ago. Leaks a lot of gas at the carbs, but runs pretty good with the simple addition of a foam airbox replacement filter. Going to spend this winter hopefully solving some issues and learning more about the search function on this forum (where I've been lurking regularly looking for ideas). And I did buy a keychain from myhondas which is super cool by the way.

Hello!
Is this your first project bike?
I too just picked up a bike a few months ago for a winter project.
Maybe we will run into each other sometime.

Bob, Thanks for the offer!

I'm over by the highschool off highland.

Besides fixing leaky carbs what else do you have planned for the bike this winter?

After the carbs, I'm putting in a 650 cam I have, upgrading the ignition etc...tons of cleaning and polishing. Then I plan on some cosmetics: a new seat, bars, lighting. After that I'm not sure. I would love to see if a CX500D tank would fit on it, but I'm not a fabricator or welder or anything close to the sort so it probably won't happen. It's ok to dream though. Maybe if I have any budget left after parts and limited free time, I may have some painting/powdercoating done (it really needs it), and see where I'm at.

You may want to do a search and see but, I think if you put a 650 cam in , your tach wont work correctly... If I remember correctly..

yeah thanks. I did get the gearing with it too. But I'm not completely sure what else I need. I think the search funtion will be my best friend for a while.
