Tank Alternatives
« on: October 23, 2010, 07:10:06 PM »
So I have a 78 CB750 and I'm not digging my tank.  In looking for alternatives I ran across this tank off an xs1100.
 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-XS1100-gas-tank-cafe-fits-Honda-cb750-and-more-/170555009469?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b5dee9bd#ht_8184wt_1084
Is anyone running a tank on their 750 from another bike altogether?
Anyone running a tank from an xs1100?
I like the look of some of the aftermarket tanks, but I don't want a fiberglass tank.  I've put a few bikes down and don't want to think about all that gas.  Anybody have an earlier model 750 tank they'd want to part with?

That would look badass.Ask the seller for specific measurements of where the mounts are,It should work with a lil fiddlin around.Go for it.
its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

I'm not sure.  I think it's a sending unit for a fuel gauge.

That's a good call.  Why didn't I think of that?

Holy Cow, that's a 24 liter tank!  6.34 gallons!  Go for it man, you can make it fit.
