Brought the German mail-order bride home today...

And she is GORGEOUS!

(pics a little blurry, forgot to clean the phone lens when I took it out of my pocket to snap the pic on the side of the road. I'll get a better one tomorrow)

Put almost 60 miles on her today, trying to be real good about the break-in, but could not resist a 100mph blast on a deserted stretch of back-country road with no side streets.

My street riding experience is all Honda 750. THIS is definitely a horse of a different color! I have never been on a bike that accelerates so quickly but feels so planted. And the handling! Curves that I would slow down to 45 on the Honda I was blasting through at 60 or more! This thing is crazy fast, and I have yet to take it out of rain mode, where it is de-tuned to "only" 155 horses! It is extremely torquey below 5K, I hear not so much above, but never really got up there long enough to find out for myself. I had the dealer install Heli bars, as the stocker I test rode killed my wrists. You wouldn't know I have them unless you know the bike. I also installed R&G frame sliders and Imperial logo decals on the front and sides. I wanted to totally geek out and get "TIE FTR" as my plate, but someone already had that.

All in all, quite a change from 1978 technology!
1977 F2 "Highway Star"
1977 F2 "Bike-In-A-Box"
1978 K8 "Frankenbike"
1991 CRX Si "Buzz Bomb"
2000 Jeep Wrangler "UBoat"
2011 BMW S1000RR "TIE Fighter"
