I shot the guy an E-mail a couple of hours ago asking if I could come up and take a look at the bike tomorrow.  I haven't heard back from him yet.  I will probably give him a call tomorrow if I don't hear from him tonight.   The bike is actually a bit to the east of Washington, PA, which is good for me, I could be there in a couple of hours.   The price is no problem presuming it is a running bike and has good paper, which is what he says it is and has.

Have F-250, Will travel.

Call him, go get it! That bike is a great deal!!!

PS. Did you do that paint job on your bike? Very impressive.

Well, the guy didn't respond to my E-mails last night so I called him this morning.  As you might immagine the bike sold last night.  So, the search continues.

Yes, I painted the bike, and a fair number of other bikes running around this part of the country too.  Although I'm retired I do paint a few bikes a year.  Its a hobby that provides a nice little income although to be honest about it lots of jobs I do don't end up costing much more than the price of materials by the time its all done.  I never do more than one at a time, each one deserves my undivided attention.  .  I make it a point to use nothing but the best materials (PPG and HOK) and I do not compromise on proper prep; if the customer can't afford it they can go to someone else.  I have to tell you, when I read internet articles and see guys using rattle can stuff and building bikes out of bondo it just makes me wince.

So, Kong - what town is it that you're in "75 miles south of Pittsburgh"?  I might need to hire your services when I get around to painting my project - at least for clear-coating purposes - if you're willing.

I'm about 15 miles outside of Morgantown, WV - to the east up in the mountains but not any place a real road runs to  ;D

I paint in an unheated building so I'm pretty much done until spring, unless a few warm days are forecast with great reliability.  I've got bit in the butt by dropping temperatures before, so if I can't get at least 24 hours of 60 degree (f) temperatures the Iwatas stay in the cabinet.  Give me a shout in the spring and we'll make her shine, I strive for every paint job I turn out to be show quality and durable enough for the street.

And as a graduate of WVU, who used to work for WVU, and is married to a graduate of WVU, I'm not sure I'm legally allowed to associate with anyone from Pitt.  ::)

Oh, cut him slack - We can't hold the Mountaineers against him.  After all - he says he's "75 miles south of Pittsburgh," not "15 miles from Morgantown."  Also, we're at least good enough that he wants to come buy our bikes.   ;D

You are in for some fun.  After that Softail any old Honda cafe is going to feel like a moped.  That includes the CB750.  I ride a 97 Dyna custom with a batwing up front as my two place touring bike.  I step off of it onto one of my CB750 Bobbers and it just doesn't feel like a real motorcycle.  Fun, but not serious anymore.  I always have to remind myself that a 750 is plenty big and powerful enough to get hurt on.  All that being said, a 550 with a lowered cafe seat, clubmans, and a 4-1 kerker is just plain fun.

i doubt it.... a softtail prob has the power to pull a trailer but the 750 will feel like a rocket not wieghed down unnecessarily... after u remember your redline is at 10 grand not 5 and half
