CB750F wiring color help
« on: October 28, 2010, 07:10:25 PM »
I searched with no luck so figured I would ask. I am repairing my wire harness and trying to sort and label all the wires for the reinstall. My shop manual describes the wires and colors but I still am confused. The manual describes a couple wire colors as
Green/Red = G/R, and goes to the neutral switch
Red/Green = R/G, and goes to the clutch switch

My harness has a dark green wire with a red stripe and another wire that is very light green or teal with a red stripe. Which one is which?

The light green and red is the neutral in all old Hondas.  Best wishes, Larry

Go to oldmanhonda.com  click motorcycles, archive wiring diagrams and look for your bike. They are clear and in color.

Looking at my wiring diagram from my original 1976 CB750F owners manual. It shows LG/R to the neutral switch. LG is "light green".. The clutch switch shows G/R (green/red). Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone, got it figured out. The light green with red stripe is labeled as Green/Red and goes to the neutral switch.

Also thanks for sending me over to oldmanhonda. What a cool site!
