Man found 3 days after motorcycle crash
« on: October 28, 2010, 09:28:04 AM »

TRAFALGAR, Ind. (AP) - Friends and family members say they had driven county roads looking for a missing man without seeing that he had crashed his motorcycle along a rural central Indiana highway and landed where he wouldn't be found for three days.

Friend Eric Arnold said he didn't believe 40-year-old Raymond Lebo of Morgantown would have survived another day if he hadn't been spotted Tuesday by a woman walking her farm near Trafalgar.

Wanda Lebo told the Daily Journal that her son underwent surgery at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis to insert a rod into his broken leg. He was listed in serious condition.

Johnson County police said Lebo crashed over a guardrail on Indiana 135 after leaving the Crowbar Inn in Trafalgar early Saturday. Police said he has a lifetime driver's license suspension.

Do you suppose leaving the Crowbar Inn and having a lifetime driver's license suspension may have been contributing factors to the crash?  ::) ::)

Nah, he was good boy and bit misunderstood and sometimes headstrong. He must have been totally sh!faced to lay there for 3 days with just a broken leg.

As I was reading the article, I also was impressed with the fact the woman was out walking her farm. There must be a lot of open land in Trafalgar.......

Having lost his license for life, no doubt, from multiple DUI's,  we can probably assume he's probably an alcoholic.  Laying in that ditch for three days had him well into detoxification.  They should have left him there to clean up and then fixed his leg.  Now he's all hopped up on pain killers and feeling good now.  Opportunity knocks but once.  <sigh>

We had a similar situation here in Oz a couple of weeks ago, two guys in a Ute (pickup truck) skidded off the highway in the rain on a Thursday evening, and continued thru a farm fence, ending up in a ditch, with both occupants suffering multiple injuries. They weren't discovered until the following Monday. I don't know if alcohol was involved. Cheers, Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Maybe the reason he lay there for three days wasn't because he couldn't walk, but because he just had a REALLY bad hangover and didn't WANT to move.  Hmmm?  I've been there.

There was a guy here in southern MN that missed a curve on his way to work (for real) at 3am, went down an embankment into thick grasses and he was missing for 2-3 days too, in early June a couple years ago.

Family and friends were out looking for him, it was all over the local snooze.
Thing about early June in MN is that during the day you can get pretty hot dehydrating temps, and at night it can dip into the 40-50's sometimes, easily low enough to kill you from exposure.
Guy spent about a week in ICU once they found him, he'd broken his pelvic so he couldn't walk and in that area nobody walks so yelling would be useless.
I think they finally found him with dogs, frickin lucky to live really.

Actually I'd just typed my previous post and I heard on the news that they'd just pulled a guy out of his car after being upside down for 10 hours with multiple injuries. I hope the poor bugger was unconcious the whole time, being upside down and in a lot of pain would be awful! ;D

Funny part is they will only be able to charge him for driving without a license, you can pretty much guarantee he was sober by the time they found him.
