Strange CB750K0 for sale in Holland
« on: October 27, 2010, 12:41:04 AM »
I found a restored 'K0' on a dutch advertising site. I discovered already some K1 parts, which is strange for a 1969 CB750. I asked the seller what the VIN of this bike is and he said:

Enginenummer  CB750E-1113595
Frame nr CB750-1114067

I asked the seller if he could confirm this again and he confirmed.

The bike came from South Africa to Holland in 2004 without license. The Dutch organisation for proving vehicles and supplying vehicle licenses, the RDW, had given a first sold date of 9-11-1969.

I guess that the RDW has made a mistake and that this is a K1 with some K0 parts. What do you think?

K1 engine and frame numbers, K1 forks, K1 gauges, K1 carbs, chain guard, oil filter canister, etc etc etc. It's a K1, with some K0 parts thrown in. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Plus...isn't it extremely rare, if not impossible to have an Engine with an earlier SN than the frame. I've ALWAYS seen engine SN's later than the frame. ALWAYS.

Sure is purdy though. Someone did some nice work down in South Africa. If I were to get a K0, I think I wouldn't mind having a K1 motor in it. What's the price? Can't tell from the add.

The frame nr. also belongs to a K1. So the date first sold can never be septemer 1969. So I think that the RDW made a mistake with putting a wrong date into the license.

from 21 September 1970 frame numbers started 1044806, so i would guess its a 71 K1
