« on: October 23, 2010, 10:02:13 AM »
ANyone been watching what some of these banged up CL 77's are going.  Dittos for all the 60's 305's

If Honda has a good collectible twin, it has to be the 305 scrambler...........agree....disagree??  Maybe it's becuz these are almost the oldest Honda twins out there?????

I think it may be because they sold so few of them. I had one new, it was a great bike. I foolishly traded it on a 650 Bonneville.

Oh Yeah! Slow to get in on this,, but agree about the old 305s & 250s, whether it is a CL OR the CB77 Super Hawk.

I've got some Super Hawk stuff (getting ready to build one of those (not stock though), got a '63 CL72 (250) that is disassembled and a fair part of a '67 CL77 Scrambler too.  ;)

Growing up in the sixties I used to drool over the 305 scramblers in the bike mags.  By the time I got old enough to buy one they didn't make them anymore and ended up buying a '69 CL350.  Always wished I would have bought a CL77.  If I wasn't into sandcasts now I'd still be tempted to get one.

I agree with the appeal of the old CL77, as the CB77 does the same to me, BUT seems like YOU'VE got some VERY NICE Sandcasts though!  8)  ;)

I think the 1500$ is in the ballpark, if the thing runs.

It has the chrome fender's that the later 305's had, but the removable exhaust tip is more a '65 or '66 item.  Frankly I think its more prefferable.   Badges, rear shocks, & 1 or 2 other items are not stock

I saw a complete front fender with hanger both of which needed a complete makeover go on Ebay about 2 years ago in the $700's.  Had to be a plant in their bidding??????

I had no idea the CL77's were actually desirable...I always thought they were pretty cool though.

Saw one pop up for sale a little while ago...if I had the room, I'd have considered it...my tiny garage and 3 bikes right now though isn't working out so well with winter on the way!

Check out the CL77 over in "Other Bikes" that Gordon (Ilbikes) did. Beautiful example. I saw it at Barber this year and pictures DO NOT do it justice!  ;)
