Wow, they were doing inspection stickers back in 78?  Uh, that is the top one, lol.  It means it may of passed a mechanical/light inspection for that state - meaning it worked.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

It looks like a 77 or 78 750F super sport from what I can tell. Non stock front fender and paint. Exhaust is aftermarket as you noted. Never heard of a G model. Looks like a nice bike.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Looks very 1977, from here. What does the steering head say? There should be a "Model Year" metal plate on one side of the steering head (maybe under the paint?).
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Like has been said before the sticker shows it had a state inspection, the same as our MOT test. US bikes normally had a plate on the steering head with the manufacture date and frame number, same as stamped on steering head.
Don't take a lot of notice of the UK Logbook details they are given by whoever applied for the UK registration, the DVLA take it as correct to a great degree and only check frame and engine numbers and mileage. My CL is shown as first registered 1/1/72 even though I told them it was built 8/72, it now carries a K registration should be L.
