Hey from Toronto
« on: October 21, 2010, 09:02:16 AM »
Hey Everybody,

I just bought a 1977 Honda CB550K. I picked her up for $200. She's not running but I don't mind spending the time and a bit of money to get her running, in fact that's what I was looking for...a project bike. This looks like a good community to get started with this sort of project.

Just a little bit about me...

I'm 16 and live just north of Toronto in Newmarket. I'm a member of my local Air Cadet Squadron and this past summer I earned my pilot's license. And yes this is my 1st motorcycle, but I've been into them for a while now so it's not such a huge project for me.

I'll be sure to post pics every time I've changed something on her.

Thanks!

Graeme

Welcome Graeme!

You've found the right spot, and you probably can find answers here to most questions you might have about your bike.  If they already haven't been answered, just ask and someone's sure to be able to help.

BTW check out this thread if you haven't already seen it.  http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=77961.0  We are trying to get organized in this area, not far from you.  One more would be great!

Hey Graeme

You got a great deal on that bike!  I redid my 500 last winter so let me know if you need any help sourcing parts etc.  Lots are still available from the dealers but unfortunately for you there are none left in TO!  Durham Honda in Whitby helped me with some of mine.  Hope you're on the road in the spring!

Hey All,

Thanks for warm welcome.

I'll be working hard over the winter to get it running...probably in a soft shelter with a warming fan. Not the best setup but it's what I've got  :)

And for sure I will be looking forward to that group ride in the spring.

Thanks!

Graeme
