Given it's a 180 miles jaunt one way to meet you guys for a ride and I've not sorted out the new acquisition ('78 CX500) much less gotten the CB550 sorted & roadworthy yet. CB550 been off the road for about 20 years.
I'd love to take a ride with a group...but it'll have to wait until later this winter season. Had some surgery Oct 4th and can't ride until things have healed up and I've ran into complications slowing the healing process. Ugh.
There are a couple guys in Phoenix Area and up in Kingman AZ who own CX500/CX650s that would probably enjoy a ride with the group. A cross post onto the CX500 group's riding area would be a good thing I think...
I'm going to do some wrenching on both bikes, CX500 needs new instruments and the CB550 needs the front end brake system rebuilt and reinstalled and the exhaust installed. Going with twin front discs on the CB550.
Not happy with braking on the CX500, so it'll get HH EBC pads and probably a new set of forks and dual discs if I end up keeping her. Nice fun bike but the riding position has me a little scrunched up and feels short between seat and the pegs.
CX500 is a stop gap for the riding fever until the CB550 is road worthy.
