Had to sell me boat
« on: November 01, 2010, 12:11:00 PM »
:'( Loved that boat but my partner needs some surgery that public health is too slow to pay for so I reasoned that I can always get another boat some day. :)
I just hope the guy I sold ROKA to looks after the old girl, she can be quite tempramental when she wants to be.
Luckily he owned the exact model before so he knows her capabilities and weak points, still I'm gonna miss the old girl and there is a big empty spot next to the house where she has been parked for the last 5 years that I'm gonna have to walk past every day! :(
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Ouch, Hushy, you're breaking my heart.  :'(
But the Missus comes first. You are right, you can always get an other boat. Good women are a little harder to come by, yes?

Isn't it coming on summertime for you all down there? Doubly painfull!

Been there, done that.  Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

We sold our boat a month or two ago to pay for some unexpected car crash bills.  :(  We had that boat for 7 years.  I DID keep all the 'goodies' - life vests, tubes, skis, ropes, etc.  Sooner or later we'll get another boat of one kind or another...

Hang in there.  :)

Sorry to hear, but I would have taken out a loan before going "boatless".

Cannot remember not having one, and there were 3 times I had two.

Hope the surgery goes well...

Hope the missus gets well soon, Hush. It looks as if it won't be long before I have to make such a decision soon as well. My wife was off work for 8 months waiting for a double hip operation, and therefore was not paid for the last 2 months, that and the expense of working away from home is starting to put our home at risk. We are trying to avoid making the decision right now but I reckon the bikes and maybe a car will have to go in the not too distant future.

It's a bugger getting old eh Rhos. :)
The only good thing about selling a prized possession like a boat or a bike is the fact that at some stage you will probably need to go looking for another one. :)

It's just another opportunity, when things are right again, you'll find another you'll like just as well if not better.. ;D

That's tough Hush but boats are inanimate and wives are warm, no contest.
Luck!
