Topic: Honda in Texas AHRMA ... not a bunch

Mostly Triumph's and Nortons in TX AHRMA.... Hard to find a honda...North TX Norton Club did a raffel.

Texas had a lot fewer residents in the '60 - '70s so the age related AHRMA riders are a smaller percent of the population today. That translates to fewer 60-year old HONDA riders to go racing........and a lot more British Twins people because they were the big sellers in that era..............you may be able to run at the front of pack!

The first AHRMA races in Wisconsin were more than 10 years ago and bombed. Now they are back and the number of riders is growing and the spectators are starting to show up.  Three years ago their were no CB160s......then a couple showed,.....now more than a dozen CB160s are ready to race. The same thing is happening with XS650s; CB750s; CB350s; RD350s; and several other models.  We are still waiting for the HD Sportster vs. the Triumph Thruxton match to show up. Another interesting match is the speed and lap times recorded for HONDA FT500s (built to 600cc) blowing away the British Twins, including the Thruxton.

Would have been nice to see another 300 people at this one, but it was unseasonably cold for lifelong texins.

Not trying to dis AHRMA, but there aren't a lot of options for anyone wanting to race a 500/550 unless it's absolutely bone stock or completely GP'd. Other associations have classes that better suit IMHO.

Could be it's because nobody gives a rats ass about middleweights, not sure, but these bikes for one are not well represented at AHRMA events.

Yeah, seems 350 and 450 twins and 750's are all you see racing .   160's are becomming  popular in a class.
