cb400f muffler mount/center stand bracket
« on: October 26, 2010, 07:03:04 PM »
Hello listers-
Thanks for the tank color info..now another question..
Someone cut off the muffler mounting bracket on the frame (CB400F,1977)..I don't know how it should look, as I need to fabricate a new one..Also the center stand  in "up" position, hits the chain..Was there a stop  for this on the bracket? I can fabricate  something after I see a picture..Thanks!
  John

Here is a photo of a 75 frame mount for the exhaust.  The center stand will come all the way up if the exhaust isn't on. If you need any measurements, send me a PM, Larry

The centre stand contacts a rubber cushion on the underside of the standard muffler.

Larry-
Thanks for the schematic for the muffler mount!  I cut one from a round steel rod I saw in a patio chair..wait til the wife sees that one..Justin,thanks for your input, concerning the mounts.
  All the best,
  John
Also, a 75 cb400f for sale here in my home town, claims under 5 K miles..(not mine, by the way) If interested, e mail me at jcoryea@hotmail.com..Ii have no financial interest in this bike..Varnish blue, needs a muffler and horn button, probably carb cleaning.
