77-78 cam cover on a 75 550 question

do the later cam covers fit on a 75 550 without any modifications or changing other parts?
I have a loud tapping noise coming from the 1 or 2 cylinder (see my other 'help' post) and found out my intake cam lobe pin (hopefully what it's called) is about 1/8 of an inch higher than the exhaust side. I think this is due to it being wore out. The later 550s had a factory fix for this. (from the other posts I read)
So, can I just buy a newer cam cover on eBay and easily swap. or does it involve other changes?
Thanks again

yep they go straight on,be carefull when tightening those four forward screws as those lugs can snap off,be sure the rockers are pulled back and dont foul the valve tips either as its going back on,back the tappets right out flush.

As Dave sez yes it will as long as you get the cover complete as the rocker shafts are different
